Rollax

... is a cozy puzzle game where you tilt a maze to guide a marble through to the end. The hardest part of developing this game was programming the tilting of the board. I settled on a simple solution where the game finds which of 8 points (North, North-East, East…) the camera is closest to. Using this, I could set how the board is manipulated depending on which way the player is looking at the maze. This allows the board to always rotate ‘towards’ the player when the ‘S’ key is held down, no matter where the camera is. I’m also proud of the system I designed and programmed where the volume and pitch of the rolling ball SFX scale with the ball’s velocity.
